CITASA gives out awards in five categories at the Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association. Nominations (including self-nominations) should be sent to the CITASA Chair (jwitte@clemson.edu) by April 30, 2007. Nominations of chapters and papers should be accompanied by copies (preferably digital) of the papers themselves. For books, have publisher send three copies to James Witte, Professor of Sociology, Department of Sociology, Clemson University, Clemson, SC 29634 (jwitte@clemson.edu) .
1) Outstanding Contribution Research: For a sustained body of research that has provided an outstanding contribution to the advancement of sociological knowledge.

5) DEADLINE EXTENDED TILL 6/8/07Graduate Student Publication / Software Award
For an application which either addresses a unique problem in sociological analysis, or a paper which provides exceptional analysis of a specific issue related to computing technology and society. Submissions involving new or existing software should include detailed descriptions of the projects and copies of the software. The award shall pertain to applications or papers written in the two calendar years prior to the award being presented. Papers must be authored by graduate students (MAs or Ph.D.) only. Post-docs are excluded from submissions. The paper or software may have multiple student authors. The student can be enrolled in other disciplines than sociology. There are no limitations on the length of the paper and may include: course work, published work, submitted work or white papers. The paper must be in English. Students do not need to be members of ASA or CITASA.
