social structural positions differentially enable and prevent "over-involvement" in computer mediated interactions. for instance, people with many social connections and real world obligations are less available for such invovlement.

Not thrilled at the idea of talking about "addiction," just because I don't see technology as a threat or a disease. Aren't people who devote a disproprtionate amount of time to "addictive behavior" likely to do so regardless or is that technology encourages it (in a way that gambling doesn't?)
